The Perfect Drown
Thy look of love upon my tender form
Befalls a passion tide to bury me;
A pouring wave that crashes like a storm
And steels the breath that ever longs to be.
To drown within the ocean left behind,
And wander lost as day becomes the night,
Then newest sun arose to build and find
A clarity that bound from sea and light.
The water warm becomes my welcome home,
The whirling deep, a heaven for my heart;
I dive and dance among the swell and foam
And revel as my story ever start.
The kindest swim to dive and always keep,
A perfect drown, in passion ever deep.
